The conversion of a former foundry into a child-safe facility presented obvious challenges. Moreover, the project included preserving a heritage building on the site, which required a considered approach to engineering.
We designed the centre to reflect its history, adding elements that amplified its industrial past. We were careful to choose accents and materials that give the building focus points, without being overwhelming, while remaining within the client’s budgetary guidelines for investing in non-essential features.
