Nordon Jago Architects design The Centre for Innovation was recently added to the Emanuel School Campus.
It houses a new commercial kitchen, teaching spaces, and design facilities to foster creative endeavour, and awaken interest in the possibilities of new technologies and new challenges.
The building also includes a museum and teaching space which displays holocaust artefacts collected by Aron Kleinlehrer, a generous patron, and long term supporter of the school.
The campus is State Heritage Listed, with a fabric of existing buildings and landscape setting that need to be preserved and enhanced. The resulting building was the product of consideration of the building form and massing, critical view lines, and a palette of materials that complemented its setting, and enhanced a sense of excitement and possibility.
